The heavy emphasis on experimentation and improvisation in Kahuna's writing can be heard upfront on their chaotic and intricate releases and in their energetic live performances.
This, paired with a strict DIY approach to recording and producing (everything released is made 100% by the three band members) makes Kahuna’s music a uniquely gritty, dissonant blend of funk, psychedelia and noise rock, unlikely to be found anywhere outside their Brooklyn studio.
